A CHILDHOOD CLOSE TO THE NATURE
As long as I can remember, the nature has always been an important part of my life. As a child, I grew up in a family that loved spending time outdoors. With a hunting father and a mother who shared his love for wildlife, we took what nature provided us with each season. The principle was the same each time: The darkgreen wellies, the itchy woolsweater and the charismatic smell of smoke coming from the fire we made. I was always amazed by the quiet surroundings and often found myself captured in the moment - and still do to this day!
THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE JEWELLERY
The idea behind Victoria Gothenburgh derives from the feeling of wanting to become a part of the nature. I wanted to be able to physically touch the bond I share with it and to show others just how beautiful that bond is. The idea of working with scandinavian forestberries came to me when I studied a couple of blueberries laying in the blue-stained palm of my hand. And there it was, so simple and yet so perfect. I then knew immidiately what had to be done and a year later, the company Victoria Gothenburgh was formed.
ABOUT THE WORK
The forestberries are the focalpoint of many of my pieces. I use them in different combinations to create jewelry that can be worn at any occation, whether it's for a casual day at work or a coctailparty - they even serve as bridaljewelry! The combinations are eternal and can be put in thousands of ways, and that is what I love the most about my work and design. Everything is truly possible!
HANDPICKED FROM THE SWEDISH FORESTS OF GOTHENBURG
When I started to work on the concept of my pieces, I knew I had to use the real shapes of the forestberries in order to create something unique. All the berries I use are picked and harvested in July of 2017. The process of refinement demanded many hours at the bench and once the result came out as beautiful as it did, a new era of jewelrymaking started.
"In addition to it's beauty in form and character, the berries also carry tradition and heritage that is deeply rooted within the Scandinavian culture. It is more than just something unique to wear, it teaches us how beauty comes in the simplest of forms and that we are surrounded by it every day."
